May 28, 2026 ABOUT
THE ROLE
Crandon Tennis Center is one of the most recognized public tennis venues in the United States — the longtime former home of the Miami Open and a cornerstone of South Florida's tennis community. We are looking for a Programs and Play Manager who is excited to help shape what tennis looks like at Crandon for the next generation of players. This is an on-site, off-court (non-coaching) management role and the connective tissue between USTA Florida's mission to grow tennis participation and the daily experience of players, families, league members, and community partners at the facility. You will own programming logistics, build relationships with local play coordinators, support tournaments and events, and represent USTA Florida as the primary Manager on Duty during the highest-traffic days of the week. We are especially interested in candidates who see the broader opportunity in this role: expanding access to tennis for under-served communities in Miami-Dade, building inclusive programming for players of all ages and ability levels, and using data and customer insight to make Crandon a model for what a flagship public tennis facility can be.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within your first 12 months in this role, you will have: Established yourself as a trusted point of contact for USTA Florida league coordinators, local play facilitators, and community partners using the facility. Built a published, multi-stream programming calendar covering leagues, clinics, round-robins, tournaments, school programs, and open play — with clear visibility into court utilization. Delivered measurable growth in program participation and court utilization, supported by customer satisfaction data. Owned an annual programs-and-play budget end-to-end, including build, defense, monthly variance tracking, and reforecast. Identified and launched at least one new program offering that expands tennis access to a community currently under-represented at the facility.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Program Coordination Partner with the USTA Florida League Coordinator to schedule and support adult league play at Crandon. Serve as the primary on-site contact for local play facilitators looking to host programming, including weekend round-robins, social play, and community events. Collaborate with the facility director and coaching staff to schedule seasonal clinics and program offerings that reflect community demand and maximize court utilization. Coordinate with the Provider Development and Support Team to schedule coaching workshops that seed new community-based programs. Work with the customer service team to ensure program and play inquiries — by phone, email, and web — are answered promptly and accurately. Events and Tournaments Work with USTA Florida competition teams to schedule, plan, and support sanctioned tournaments delivering a best-in-class experience for adults and juniors. Identify and execute additional event opportunities that meet community needs and grow facility usage. Serve as the on-site point of contact for special events, film shoots, and photo shoots. Operations and Management Serve as the primary Manager on Duty for weekends and holidays, making sound real-time decisions and documenting them for Monday handoff. Manage vendors and supplies tied to programs and play; track inventory and order ahead of need. Partner with the facility director and finance team to build, defend, and track the annual programs and play budget. Work with the Business Insights team to turn participation data, court utilization metrics, and customer surveys into actionable improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
