The Educator Recognition Coordinator role consists of consulting and assisting in the administration of a variety of educational programs. This position consults with and advises supervisory, administrative, and instructional personnel in respective programs administered by the unit. Assists local, county or regional school administrators, supervisors, or instructors in the implementation of the programs administered by the unit. The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must act courteously with others. The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions: Coordinate, plan and implement activities for the Florida School-Related Employee of the Year (SREY) recognition program. Supports the Department's mission and work by focusing on professional learning for teachers across the state of Florida. Coordinates scheduling activities and facilitates the development of the Christa McAuliffe Ambassador for Education and other recognition honorees as identified. Coordinates and manages nomination process for educator recognition programs (Teacher of the Year, Principal of the Year, Assistant Principal of the Year, School Related Employee of the Year) including providing technical assistance to school districts. Facilitates and implements logistical activities for educator recognition programs including contract negotiation. Assists with developing partnerships and identifying funding for educator recognition programs. Coordinates and facilitates recognition professional learning meetings. Coordinate, plan and implement activities for Florida education honorees via the Florida Distinguished Educator Ceremony. Coordinate, plan and facilitate logistical activities of the Florida Teacher LEAD Network (FTLN). Disseminates relevant training materials, technical assistance, data and other information documentation as needed. Serves as liaison with appropriate professional organizations and agencies. LEAVE INFORMATION
Annual Leave- Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment. Sick Leave
