THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Use the Job ID based on the Position Location as follows Location Job ID 8100 Forest Hill Boulevard, WPB 34967 This is professional work in the development and management of the training and apprentice programs for Palm Beach County (PBC) Water Utilities Department (WUD) employees. Develops integrated short- and long-term training programs to ensure that the Department maintains and enhances the competence and skills of its employees, including required certification, licensing, and Continuing Education Credits (CEUs). Recommends an annual budget and performs analyses of costs associated with training programs, including but not limited to books, webinars, computerized programs, textbooks, peripherals, and outside consultants. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of WUD, and is reviewed through weekly meetings, conferences, reports, and results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Training and Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, Public/Business Administration, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of experience planning and implementing training programs, preferably in the public sector, OR An unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of four (4) years of experience planning and implementing training programs, preferably in the public sector, OR An Associate's Degree in Education, Training and Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, Public/Business Administration, or related field; minimum of five (5) years of experience planning and implementing training programs, preferably in the public sector, OR Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of seven (7) years of experience planning and implementing training programs, preferably in the public sector.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Water/Wastewater License/Certification program, Experience as a trainer in a government entity, including scheduling classes and handling administrative activities, Experience as an instructor for adults, and Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
