JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's degree (preferred) in Instructional Technology and Media, curriculum, or related field.
Certification or Licensure:
A GA Teaching Certificate or the ability to acquire one is required. Media Specialist certification is required.
Skills:
Knowledgeable on federal, state, and local policies regarding the selection of media resources. Considerable knowledge of appropriate uses of media and technology to enhance instruction and achievement. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead people and provide direction. Knowledge of school libraries with cataloging and managing a library automation system experience.
Work Experience:
Five years of successful teaching experience and three years of media center experience are required.
PRIMARY DUTY
This position is responsible for providing leadership for the implementation of the district's library media program. Coordinates and directs the activities of library media specialists.
