"Plan It. Build It. Get It Done" The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is hiring a Maintenance Projects Coordinator (Work Program Coordinator) in Kapolei. This position provides technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating maintenance and repair services programs for City facilities, structures, grounds, and equipment.
What You Will Do :
Prepare Plans & Specifications
- Develop work programs and construction project documents. Conduct Field Inspections
- Evaluate maintenance requests and estimate project costs. Monitor Project Progress
- Ensure timelines, budgets, and labor projections are met.
Special Working Conditions :
May be required to work on weekends, evening hours and holidays. Serves as a Disaster Response worker during declared emergencies.
Department of Parks and Recreation:
$5,369 per month (SR-22).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major work in business administration, public administration, civil or structural engineering, or a related field.
Substitution :
Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.
For example:
1. Four (4) years of professional work experience, in any occupation, may substitute for a general bachelor's degree. 2. Four (4) years of general work experience (does not need to be professional level experience) in financial or program analysis work, or estimating project costs or purchases may be substituted for a general bachelor's degree. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
: Three (3) years of professional financial or program analysis, estimating or purchasing experience, one of which shall have involved building construction and maintenance activities.
Must be able to:
Demonstrate understanding of the tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and established work practices and processes used in building construction and maintenance operations. Apply applicable laws, ordinances, policies, procedures, and regulations governing building construction and maintenance work. Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance and construction tasks effectively. Plan, develop, and coordinate comprehensive maintenance and repair service programs. Develop bid documents, specifications, and related procurement materials. Prepare projections and detailed estimates of equipment, materials, and labor required for maintenance and repair work. Interpret and apply applicable laws, rules, and regulations to maintenance and construction activities.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT
: Possession of a valid appropriate driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.
