The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialized patient advocacy services. Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Ensuring adherence to healthcare laws, regulations, and patient rights standards. Educating and informing patients and staff about their rights and responsibilities. Participating in and contributing to meetings, investigations, etc. to address and resolve patient grievances or concerns. Working across multiple sections/units to ensure rights are upheld across the hospital. Maintaining system that documents records of cases, complaints, and actions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations and patient rights standards. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to accept and carry out special assignments and additional duties when requested. Compassion, empathy, and respect for patients' autonomy. Education and experience in healthcare, social services, or advocacy work preferred.
