We believe keiki thrive when learning is: Culturally rooted Developmentally appropriate Academically strong Connected to ʻohana Position Overview We are seeking a Director of Curriculum & Family Engagement to support instructional quality, strengthen teacher practice, and ensure consistent, high-quality communication with families. This role works closely with the Executive Director to uphold program excellence, support teachers, and strengthen connections with `ohana. Duties The Program Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the Early Learning Center operates smoothly, consistently, and with excellence. This position provides direct support to the Executive Director while strengthening internal systems, communication, and accountability across the program. Program Operations & Coordination Support day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and consistent program delivery Coordinate schedules, calendars, and program timelines across classrooms and staff Ensure systems, routines, and workflows are followed consistently Assist in planning and executing program initiatives, events, and activities Maintain organized systems for curriculum materials and program documentation Monitor completion of key staff responsibilities Administrative Systems & Organization Maintain organized digital and/or physical filing systems Support enrollment processes, waitlists, and student record updates Assist with licensing, compliance documentation, and required reporting (as needed) Ensure accuracy and organization of internal documents and program records Help develop and refine systems that improve efficiency and organization Instructional & Program Quality Support Help monitor consistency in curriculum implementation across classrooms Track feedback provided to teachers and ensure follow-through Support preparation of classroom materials and curriculum resources when needed Communication & Family Engagement Support Draft, edit, and review parent communications (newsletters, updates, announcements) Ensure all communication reflects a professional, warm, and culturally grounded tone Review teacher-to-parent communication prior to distribution (when needed) Support coordination of family engagement efforts, events, and outreach Assist in maintaining communication platforms (e.g., ClassDojo, email systems) Tracking, Reporting & Accountability Track staff deliverables and program benchmarks Support preparation of reports, summaries, and updates for leadership and partners Monitor timelines and ensure follow-through on key tasks and initiatives Identify gaps or delays and communicate proactively with the Executive Director Help maintain accountability systems that support staff performance and program quality Executive Director Support Provide direct administrative and operational support to the Executive Director Assist with prioritization and execution of high-level tasks and projects Support meeting preparation, note-taking, and follow-up actions Help manage competing priorities and ensure key initiatives move forward Anticipate needs and proactively problem-solve Special Projects & Program Development Support development of new initiatives, systems, or program improvements Assist with curriculum projects, program planning, or expansion efforts Help coordinate partnerships, meetings, or external engagement as needed Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the program Team Support & Culture Help foster a positive, professional, and accountable team environment Support onboarding of new staff (organization, materials, communication) Reinforce program expectations, systems, and standards Model professionalism, organization, and strong communication Requirements Required Qualifications Experience working in an early childhood education setting or similar program environment Strong understanding of child development (ages 3-5) and developmentally appropriate practice Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and priorities in a fast-paced setting Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to draft, edit, and review professional communication for families and staff Ability to provide support and guidance to staff while maintaining accountability Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative Proficiency with basic technology tools (Google Workspace, email platforms, communication apps such as ClassDojo or similar) Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism Commitment to culturally grounded education and respect for Hawaiian culture, ʻike kūpuna, and community values Nice To Haves Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with standards-based curriculum (HELDS, Common Core, Hawaiʻi State Standards) Experience supporting or coaching teachers, or monitoring instructional quality Experience with program coordination, operations, or administrative systems Experience with licensing, compliance, or program reporting Experience with family engagement, parent communication, or community outreach Familiarity with curriculum planning, lesson plan review, and differentiated instruction Experience supporting leadership (Executive Director, Principal, or Program Director) Benefits Compensation Competitive hourly or salaried rate based on experience Flexible structure (part-time or full-time but may require MUST DO hours as need arises) Medical Dental Chiropractic Coverage Vision Coverage Employee discounts
