Immediately Job Description The Highland CSD is currently accepting applications for a Wrestling Cheer Sponsor. The Highland CSD offers a four-day school week with competitive pay. Currently we are accepting applications for a Football Cheer Sponsor. The Highland CSD is a small community committed to academic excellence through self-discovery and respect that offers a progressive PK-12 education to approximately 620 students. Highland Elementary (Grades:
PK-5) is conveniently located just 15 miles south of Iowa City in Riverside Iowa. Highland Secondary (Grades:
6-12) is just 7 miles south of the elementary off Hwy 218.RESPONSIBILITIES
The Cheer Coach has the responsibility for leading the program in a manner that serves the best interests of the school district and of the students who participate in the program. The sponsor works cooperatively with the administrators of the school to assure that the activities related to the program are consistent with building needs and practices. Program Leadership Supervises the program at all competitions, games, and practices offered by the school, ensuring the safety and well being of all student participants. Sets and maintains appropriately high expectations for learning and classroom performance as a condition for participation in cheer. Assures that students' academic performance is monitored and supported to ensure success. Sets and maintains high behavioral expectations for students and staff who participate in the program, assuring that all conduct presents the school and the school district in a positive manner. Supports the values of competitive sports including hospitality, sportsmanship, and fair play. Develops and implements a cohesive program that teaches skills and promotes team play of all program participants through instruction, practice, and competitive events. Assists students who wish to pursue higher education and are capable of participating in cheer beyond the high school level with understanding opportunities, pursuing scholarships and financial support, and selecting appropriate options. Communicates effectively with students, staff, parents, and the public. Follows district guidelines in communicating with the media. •NOTE:
