Far + Wise is a dedicated education non-profit organization offering year-round Kindergarten to Career programming at no cost to qualifying Blaine County students. Through targeted academic support, skills training, and workforce preparation, Far + Wise removes barriers to learning and opportunity and paves the way for lifelong success. Far + Wise delivers two comprehensive programs to support Blaine County students from early learning through the completion of a post-secondary program: Lewis Scholars Program (grades K-12+) : Beginning in kindergarten, daily afterschool enrichment focused on literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development and consistent mentorship through high school graduation. Cimino Center for Career Exploration (grades 6-12+): Hands-on career pathways, workplace exposure, skill-building workshops and post-secondary navigation.Position Description:
Far + Wise is seeking a Director of the Career Center to support the growth, planning, and execution of Career Center programming. The Career Center is an expanding program designed to provide Blaine County students with meaningful career exploration experiences that help inform their career trajectories and prepare them for life beyond high school. This role works closely with the Executive Director and the administrative team to ensure high-quality, mission-aligned programming. The Director of the Career Center is involved in all aspects of program development and delivery, from designing experiences and managing partnerships to supporting enrollment and overseeing student progress. This is a dynamic, hands-on role for someone who is organized, proactive, and excited to build programs that connect students to real-world opportunities.Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Execution Seek new and relevant career opportunities for youth. Plan and implement career exploration camps, internships, and apprenticeships for local students and recent graduates. Oversee curriculum, resources, staffing, and training so programs are well-prepared and run smoothly. Regularly observe programming, including student engagement and partner participation, and make adjustments to improve the experiences. Solicit feedback on the program experiences with all stakeholders, respond to feedback and continually revise for improvement. Internships and Pre-apprenticeships Coordinate with local employers and partners to set up and support internships and pre-apprenticeships for students. Support placement of students into appropriate experiences, ensuring alignment with their interests and readiness. Build and manage systems to document student learning and track participation in programming. Employer Partnership Management Build and maintain relationships with local industry and nonprofit partners to support Career Center experiences. Identify workforce needs in the Wood River Valley and align programming to address those needs. Communicate with partners to ensure strong, sustainable relationships. Marketing, Admissions, and Enrollment Work with the Communications and Marketing Associate and other administrative team members to build and implement the marketing and promotional plan for the Career Center. Promote Career Center programming through digital outreach, presentations, and direct communication with prospective students. Ensure outreach is engaging, relevant, and responsive to student interests. Collaborate with the Operations and Enrollment Manager to facilitate enrollment processes, including form distribution, completion, and communication with students. Budget and Financial Management Manage the Career Center budget in coordination with the Director of Operations and other administrative personnel. Work with colleagues and the Career Center Committee to implement strategic priorities in the coming years, predict needs and creatively design sustainable systems. Risk Management Identify and mitigate risks associated with Career Center programming. Develop and communicate clear risk management practices for staff and participants. Communicate with the Director of Operations regarding new activities that may introduce additional risk.Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and timelines simultaneously. Ability to design and implement systems that support program quality and growth. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students, families, and community partners effectively. Relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain partnerships with employers and community organizations. Ability to work collaboratively across teams while also taking initiative and ownership of Career Center initiatives. Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a growing program Ability to think strategically about program growth while also managing day-to-day programming. Proficiency with technology, including Google Workspace and the ability to learn new systems quicklyCompensation:
Salary:
$65,000 - $85,000. Employer paid health and dental insurance. Retirement plan with employer match. Paid holidays, vacation days, and sick leave.Pay:
