NSCI Small Groups Coordinator North Shore Congregation Israel Glencoe, IL Job Details Part-time $12,000 - $15,000 a year 2 days ago Qualifications Google Workspace Teamwork Volunteer management Administrative experience Organizational skills Full Job Description Position Overview North Shore Congregation Israel (NSCI) seeks a highly organized, relationship-driven Small Groups Coordinator to support and sustain a vibrant small group initiative within our congregation. This role will focus on maintaining strong connections across existing groups, supporting lay leaders, and ensuring the smooth, ongoing operation and growth of the program. The Coordinator will work closely with clergy, staff, and lay leaders to strengthen participation, deepen engagement, and ensure that the small groups initiative remains responsive, welcoming, and well-managed. Key Responsibilities Program Coordination & Support Partner with key staff to support the ongoing implementation of the small groups initiative Maintain and execute established processes, timelines, and program structures Ensure consistency and quality across all small group experiences Leadership Support & Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact for small group leaders Provide ongoing guidance, check-ins, and support to sustain healthy, active groups Assist in onboarding and orienting new leaders as needed Maintain and distribute training materials and resources for leaders Community Engagement & Outreach Support recruitment of participants and leaders through relationship-building and outreach Be present at synagogue events to connect with congregants and share information about small groups Help integrate new participants into appropriate groups Program Management & Growth Monitor group activity and participation, including regular evaluation of group sustainability Identify opportunities to strengthen, expand, or sunset groups as appropriate Support the launch of new groups in alignment with existing program structure Communications & Marketing Collaborate with the Communications team to promote small groups through email, website, and other channels Ensure accurate and up-to-date information about groups is shared with the congregation Support ongoing visibility and engagement with the program Operations & Data Management Maintain accurate records of participants, leaders, and group activity Manage data and communications through platforms such as AirTable and ShulCloud Track participation metrics and assist in reporting on program impact Qualifications Experience working in a nonprofit, synagogue, or communal organization Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail Experience supporting programs, volunteers, or community engagement initiatives Comfort building relationships and communicating with a wide range of individuals Proven responsiveness and follow-through Flexible, dependable, and collaborative approach Core Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to support and sustain volunteer-led initiatives Organizational and project management skills with attention to detail Comfort managing multiple moving pieces and timelines Proficiency with Google Workspace and familiarity with database systems (e.g., AirTable, ShulCloud) Basic marketing and outreach skills to support participation and engagement Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a connector and organizer—someone who enjoys building relationships while ensuring that programs run smoothly behind the scenes. Additional Information:
This is a part-time position (10 hours/week) with a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends. $12000-15000 This position can be combined with our Tikkun Olam Coordinator position to create a 20 hour/week opportunity for the right candidate About NSCI North Shore Congregation Israel is a vibrant, values-driven synagogue committed to building meaningful Jewish life through connection, learning, and community.
