Job Description

The Dental Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and overseeing provider credentialing activities across internal stakeholders, external vendors, and insurance carriers. This role ensures credentialing processes are executed accurately, on time, and in alignment with organizational priorities. This position requires strong project management capability, technical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while providing clear, concise communication to stakeholders, including leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Process Management Manage multiple credentialing initiatives concurrently, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met Develop and maintain tracking tools, timelines, and status reporting Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks; implement mitigation strategies Support process improvement initiatives and standardization of workflows Partner with cross-functional teams to support onboarding and operational readiness Credentialing Coordination Coordinate provider credentialing, enrollment, revalidation, and termination activities across multiple payers Track progress and ensure timely completion of credentialing requirements Maintain accurate records of provider credentialing status and documentation Identify delays or issues and drive resolution with appropriate stakeholders Vendor & Payer Coordination Act as the primary point of contact between internal teams, credentialing vendors, and insurance carriers Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to timelines and service expectations Communicate with payers to resolve application issues, status discrepancies, and escalations Ensure alignment between provider onboarding timelines and credentialing progress Reporting & Communication Provide regular status updates on credentialing progress, risks, and timelines Develop and maintain reporting on key metrics, including turnaround times and aging Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including leadership Payer Portal Administration Manage and maintain provider data across multiple payer credentialing portals Submit and track applications, documentation, and updates within portal systems Maintain user access and ensure data accuracy across platforms Troubleshoot portal-related issues and coordinate resolution as needed
Qualifications:
Required 2-5 years of experience in project management, operations, or program coordination Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities Experience working across cross-functional teams and external partners Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking and reporting Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with leadership Preferred Experience in dental or healthcare credentialing, provider enrollment, or revenue cycle operations Experience working with third-party vendors or outsourced service providers Familiarity with payer portals and credentialing systems Exposure to practice management systems such as Denticon or similar platforms Core Competencies Project management and execution Organization and attention to detail Clear, concise communication Cross-functional coordination Technical aptitude and systems navigation Problem-solving and issue resolution Success Measures Credentialing timelines are met with minimal delays Vendor performance meets defined expectations and SLAs Accurate and up-to-date credentialing records and reporting Increased visibility into credentialing status and risks Reduced impact of credentialing delays on provider onboarding At Rock Dental Brands, we believe that every team member shares the most important job, because whether directly or indirectly, we are all crucial to the patient journey.
