Employee assistance program, Life insurance, Accident and illness coverage, Paid Time Off, voluntary dental and vision insurance About Us Middle Way House is dedicated to providing immediate, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Our Crisis Intervention Program offers a range of services, including a 24/7 helpline, on-scene advocacy, and support groups, ensuring survivors receive the care and empowerment they deserve. We work collaboratively with the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking (ICESAHT) and the Indiana Coalition to Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) to continually enhance and develop our programs. About the Role The Prevention Assistant Coordinator will work with the program coordinator to build and maintain a Prevention Team and Promote Prevention Programming. In this position, you would be trained and aid in the development of our Prevention Community Specialists team and do work with the Building Healthy Relationships curriculum, and other programs. Major Job Activities
  • Aid in recruiting Prevention Community Specialists for work-study, internships and volunteer roles from IU, Ivy Tech, local high-schools, and the Bloomington community.
  • Aid in training MWH staff and volunteers on primary prevention best practices and organizational capacity building.
  • Aid in mentoring the PCS team and/or volunteers and interns.
  • Work with other MWH staff to meet the diverse educational needs of both shelter and residents outreach program targets.
  • Support the training and leadership development of PCS from disproportionately impacted communities as they develop programs for their own communities.
  • Be trained and work towards anti-oppressive mentorship and be able to support learning and lead by example for all components of the Prevention Community Specialist position.
  • Provide On-Scene Advocacy within and following our Prevention Programs, with special consideration for serving members of the community who are multiply marginalized. Role Requirements
  • Be creative, makes connections with others, and deeply cares about the safety of others.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a field relating to public health, social work, education, etc.
  • Demonstrates flexibility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working alongside diverse populations.
