Incumbent serves as Welcome Desk/Resource Assistant for Region 12, responsible for directing welcome team, overseeing various procedures, and assisting administrative staff.
DUTIES :
Determines program priorities, objectives and timetables, provides technical assistance, advice and problem resolution. Responds to and assists in responding to agency staff inquiries regarding program definitions. Ensures proper documentation on all files and case documents as required for each individual program as it relates to responsibilities. Assists Management and other administrative staff in program design and implementation and in development of appropriate systems and procedures. Provides a variety of services for clientele regarding education, employment, and life-support, including referrals, and counseling sessions. Ensures proper delivery of Regional Customer Flow Policy and individual performance standards are met and/or exceeded, while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and agency rules and regulations. Provides effective delivery welcome team services to participants in accordance with organization's policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the Regional Customers Flow and Eligibility Policy. Compiles and studies occupational, educational, and economic information to assist in directing customers to appropriate staff for developing and implementing vocational and educational objectives or other employment and training needs. Oversees and maintains files and computer databases ensuring proper documentation is available to support program eligibility, gateway activities, and services received. Periodically drives motor vehicle to various worksites, agencies, businesses, workshops, and seminar locations. Performs related duties as assigned, and provides coverage anywhere that is deemed necessary by management. I. JOB REQUIREMENTS
: Associate Degree in Education, Marketing, Business, or related field and/or equivalent combination of training and experience. Baccalaureate Degree preferred. Prior sales, marketing and/or recruitment experience also preferred. Bi-Lingual (Spanish) Preferred. Ability to effectively manage staff; meet or exceed performance outcomes; and interpret, comprehend, articulate, and comply with applicable Federal, State and agency laws and regulations. Must be at least 21 years of age and ability to meet all hiring requirements, including passage of a drug test. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge and understanding of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Ability to provide a variety of services for clientele regarding education, employment, and life-support, including referrals, counseling sessions, and follow-up sessions. Working knowledge of standard office procedures, and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks, and operations. Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and ability to conduct public presentations and prepare detailed written reports as required. Ability to direct, coordinate, and evaluate operations of welcome team, interview candidates for job openings, and provide orientation and training. Ability to properly operate standard office equipment, including computer, printer, calculator, fax machine, copy machine, and telephone. Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other JobWorks departments, various community organizations, social service agencies, educational institutions, various employers, clients, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities. Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information and records according to state requirements. Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate/hostile persons. Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and work with others in a team environment. Ability to work on several tasks at the same time. Ability to understand, memorize, retain, and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to plan and present public speaking presentations regarding JobWorks, Inc. Ability to compare or observe similarities and differences between data, people, or things. Ability to compile, analyze and evaluate data, make determinations, and present findings in oral or written form. Ability to file, post, mail materials, and maintain accurate and organized records. Ability to occasionally work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and travel out of town for meetings, training and workshops, sometimes overnight. Possession of valid driver's license and demonstrated safe driving record. II. DIFFICULTY OF WORK
: Incumbent performs a broad range of duties involving complex and complicated considerations and problems. Incumbent operates within very general guidelines and rules which require adaptation to address specific cases and circumstances. III. RESPONSIBILITY
: Majority of incumbent's duties are assigned in terms of general objectives and results, with potential problems anticipated and addressed in terms of departmental policies. Incumbent's performance contributes to departmental programs and operations by making decisions based on the objectives and policies of the department. Work is reviewed for overall impact on departmental policies and practices. Incumbent reports directly to Regional Program Manager. IV. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
: Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment, involving sitting and walking at will, sitting/standing/walking for long periods, keyboarding, close and far vision, hearing sounds/communication, and speaking clearly. Incumbent occasionally works extended hours, evenings, weekends, and travels out of town for meetings and workshops. Pay:
