Incumbent serves as CASA Program Coordinator for the St. Joseph Probate Court, responsible for coordinating Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs and activities. Accesses and maintains information in case management system, including status of CASA hearings, court orders, pleadings, and court dockets and case assignments for CASA volunteers. Maintains waitlist of children and volunteers and assigns children to staff and volunteers. Completes background checks and public records requests on clients, as requested by staff and volunteers. Prepares and gathers accurate statistical information to assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license. Working knowledge of Department policies and procedures and basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, email, and Department-specific software applications, with ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks, and operations. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other County departments, DCS, child service providers, local law enforcement, state CASA office, juveniles and families, attorneys, volunteers, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities. Ability to compile, collate, or classify data and count, compute, and perform simple arithmetic calculations. Education/Experience High School Diploma/HSE. Baccalaureate degree in social sciences from an accredited college or university is preferred. Physical Requirements Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment, involving sitting/walking at will, sitting for long periods, lifting/carrying objects weighing under 25 pounds, reaching, keyboarding, handling/grasping/fingering objects, depth perception, close/far vision, speaking clearly, and hearing sounds/communication. Incumbent is occasionally required to work extended hours, weekends, and evenings.
