Part-time (Afternoons, Monday-Friday), 2026-2027 Academic Year UFM Community Learning Center an After-School Program Coordinator UFM Community Learning Center is hiring! UFM Community Learning Center is a creative educational program serving Kansas State University, Manhattan, and communities across Kansas. UFM offers a variety of community enrichment classes for all ages and interests. Based on the philosophy that everyone can learn and everyone can teach, UFM provides opportunities for lifelong learning and personal development. Our programs serve over 10,000 participants annually and cover a wide range of topics, including arts and hobbies, cooking, languages and culture, martial arts, recreation and fitness, health and wellness, professional development, and more. UFM serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and as a catalyst for new programs and services that enhance the quality of life for all. In addition to the community enrichment classes, UFM also coordinates/sponsors several community service programs for all ages and interests. Those programs included a Veteran Wellness Program, Project EXCELL, Lifetime Learning for adults 50+, the Manhattan Community Gardens, Teen Mentoring Program, the Lou Douglas Lecture Series on Public Issues, Manhattan Area Risk Prevention Coalition (MARPC), and other programs. Position Summary The ABLE (After-school Building Leadership and Enrichment) Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and implementation of UFM's afterschool enrichment program. This position ensures high-quality programming, supports staff and instructors, and fosters a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for youth participants. Schedule & Hours Monday through Friday, approximately 20 hours a week: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (K-5 Programming 2:30-5:30PM) Additional limited hours may be required for planning, coordination, or special events Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the ABLE Program, including scheduling and logistics Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers and program assistants Develop and manage educational enrichment offerings aligned with youth development program goals Teach K-5 classes and support volunteer engagement Coordinate activities with UFM community instructors, program assistants, community volunteers, and Teen Mentoring Coordinator Train staff on youth development risk management protocol in collaboration with the Executive Director Uphold fundamental youth development program principles such as risk management protocol, positive youth development program assistant training, incident reporting, and adult/youth program ratios to ensure safety and programmatic success Maintain communication with families, instructors, and UFM staff Ensure participant safety, attendance tracking, and program compliance Manage program supplies, materials, and space setup Assist with program promotion and outreach efforts Train Program Assistants and provide support with lesson plans Coordinate transportation and parent pick up of K-5 students Track enrollment, evaluate program success, and provide reports Support grant-related tracking, data collection, and reporting as needed Support budget coordination, fundraising, and grant writing under supervision of Executive Director Qualifications High school diploma Experience working with youth programs, education, or community programming Strong organizational and leadership skills Proven track record of being a reliable professional Ability to work independently and coordinate the program Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Basic administrative and computer skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred Clean background check Preferred Qualifications Professional and/or educational background in education, social work, human services, nonprofit management, or related field Experience supervising staff or volunteers Passion for community-based education and youth enrichmentTo Apply:
