Job Description
ENERAL FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Program Director and/or Coordinator, the Group Leaders work under a Site Lead and provide direct service to participants in Child Care licensed school age programs. The primary role of a Group Leader is to serve as a role model for youth, providing positive interaction and engagement throughout the program supervising and leading activities with an assigned group of children.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful employee will demonstrate individual competence in the following areas: 1. Effective communication, both orally and in writing2. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity3. Work collaboratively as a team member4. Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner5. The ability to implement and adapt program activities pre-planned for the groupPhysical/Mental Requirements:
1. Must be able to routinely perform the following moderate physical activities; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist,reach with hands, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, have fingerdexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear, and have visual acuity2. Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, motivation, and desire to work with all ages, especially youth3. Must always present a neat and professional appearanceJob Requirements:
1. Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values2. Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire3. Complete Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid, KDHE Health History, Site Orientation, and other mandatory training in accordance with Conditions of Employment4. Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch and assigned location(s) as necessary5. Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association and in compliance with KDHE School Age Program regulations6. Maintain consistent on-time attendance arriving at scheduled work site prior to the start of shifts and ready to work on time for the full program schedule7. Ability to complete training hours outside of the regular work schedule; some evening and weekends required for training and staff meetings as assignedSimilar remote jobs
