ONLY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Attending all mandatory staff meetings and in-service hours Facilitate program activities, supervise routines, and encourage youth participation Remain actively engaged with youth throughout the program with a focus on building relationships and being a positive role model in the areas of interpersonal communication, sportsmanship, healthy eating and physical activity Demonstrating the ability to set and maintain limits for children using positive reinforcements Support and guide youth in conflict to find positive solutions and work out differences and disagreement with respect to all involved Maintaining good public relations with parents and host building administrators and staff Create a welcoming environment by ensuring everyone that enters the program receives a warm welcome and children and parents are greeted by name Communicating any issue or concerns to the Site Director in a timely manner Following all reporting procedures for reporting suspected child abuse including notification to your Site Director and/or area supervisor immediately Maintain open communication with your supervisor regarding training needs, any interest in opportunities to advance, clarification of responsibilities or policies and/or feedback on performance Child Abuse Prevention•Responsible for adhering to boundary policies, attends required training, follows procedures for high-risk activities and supervision, reports suspicious behaviors and policy violations, and complies with mandated reporting. Engage and actively participate in annual campaign, including but not limited to solicitation of donations and participation and support of campaign fundraisers All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful employee will demonstrate individual competency in the following areas: Effective communication, both orally and in writing Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity Work collaboratively as a team member Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner The ability to implement and adapt program activities pre-planned for the group
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to routinely perform the following moderate physical activities; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear, and have visual acuity Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, motivation, and desire to work with all ages, especially youth Must always present a neat and professional appearance
Job Requirements:
Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire Complete Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid, KDHE Health History, Site Orientation, and other mandatory trainings in accordance with Conditions of Employment Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch and assigned location(s) as necessary Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association and in compliance with KDHE by School Age Program regulations Maintain consistent on-time attendance arriving at scheduled work site prior to the start of shifts and ready to work on time for the full program schedule Ability to complete training hours outside of the regular work schedule; some evening and weekends required for training and staff meetings as assigned
GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the supervision of the Program Director and/or Coordinator, the Group Leaders work under a Site Lead and provide direct service to participants in Child Care licensed school age programs. The primary role of a Group Leader is to serve as a role model for youth, providing positive interaction and engagement throughout the program supervising and leading activities with an assigned group of children.
