GardenWorks Enterprise Coordinator Reports to:
Director of Program & Enterprise Operations Status:
Part-Time (Seasonally Adjusted as needed) About LegacyWorks & GardenWorks LegacyWorks is a youth development nonprofit in Wichita, Kansas, that empowers teens ages 14-19 through hands-on workforce programs. GardenWorks is our urban agriculture enterprise where youth gain real job experience while learning responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. Participants grow produce and flowers, prepare produce for Consumer Supported Agriculture venture, and engage in a structured advancement program designed to build confidence and work readiness. Revenue from GardenWorks helps sustain our mission while youth development remains our top priority. Position Summary The GardenWorks Enterprise Coordinator oversees the daily execution of GardenWorks operations and youth workforce development. This role balances agricultural production with structured youth employment experiences, ensuring that youth growth remains central while revenue goals are responsibly met. The Coordinator leads the operational aspects of GardenWorks in partnership with the Director Core Responsibilities 1. Daily Garden Operations Management Implement crop plans and seasonal production schedules Oversee planting, harvesting, irrigation, and pest management Coordinate wash-pack procedures and CSA preparation Ensure market readiness and staffing Maintain produce and supply inventory Track garden income and expenses 2. Youth Workforce Leadership Supervise youth across all levels (1-4) Train Peer Leaders in field leadership Structure daily work assignments aligned to youth level Provide coaching and performance feedback Support advancement readiness across youth levels 3. Scheduling & Logistics Create and manage youth shift schedules Coordinate with Operations Director on staffing needs Prepare for peak season labor demands Communicate operational updates regularly 4. Culture & Mission Alignment Prioritize youth development in daily workflow decisions Balance productivity expectations with learning opportunities Maintain a structured, supportive environment Authority & Boundaries Owns day-to-day operational decisions Recommends purchasing and seasonal adjustments Tracks budget but does not hold final financial authority Does not independently set long-term enterprise strategy Reports directly to Director of Program & Enterprise Operations Core Competencies Strong organizational and time management skills Experience in horticulture or sustainable agriculture Ability to supervise youth in outdoor environments Calm leadership under seasonal pressure Commitment to trauma-informed youth engagementPay:
