Coordinator, Primate Breeder Department :
9010|NIRC Administration Responsibilities :
Job Duties:
Coordinate, consult and work closely with colony managers regarding multiple breeder programs Assist clients/sponsors, division heads, veterinarians and coordinators on multiple breeder programs Coordinate with colony managers to assure all contractual obligations for multiple breeder programs are met Review of animal serology for recommendations, additional confirmatory testing and/or separation/removal Coordinate with colony managers to assure animal husbandry, sanitation, cage change outs, enhanced sanitation for potential pathogenic outbreak preventing cross contamination are accomplished to minimize further outbreaks in area Update and maintain electronic animal inventory for multiple breeder programs, as well as provide inventory diagrams to supervisors and managers on weekly basis Coordinate and assure optimal space allocation based on species, size, age, number of animals, programs, etc. regarding multiple breeder programs Coordinate with colony managers to assure facility GLP and /or SOP compliance for multiple breeder programs.Qualifications:
Required Quailifications:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree with scientific emphasis. Individual must also have at least 2 years' experience with management and oversight responsibilities of animal care, vivarium operations in an AAALAC accredited facility, preventative health implementation, and/or research procedures utilizing USDA regulated species, preferably nonhuman primates. 4 years' experience as described above can be substituted for the degree.
