Job Description

Position Summary:
The Member Coordinator under the direction and supervision of the Senior Program Director, delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the service area.
Essential Functions:
  • Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member growth and retention.
  • Help train Member Service staff, as directed by the Senior Program Director.
  • Help review and evaluate staff performance as directed by the Senior Program Director.
  • Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
  • Assist in internal and community marketing efforts to maximize membership and program growth.
  • Assists in YMCA Annual Campaign and special events (Healthy Kids Day,etc).
  • Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
  • Builds relationships with staff team & members; helps staff team & members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
  • Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs Senior Program Director of unusual situations or unresolved issues that need assistance.
  • Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
  • Incorporate and promote all association site safety programs while performing job functions
  • Clean and maintain assigned work area i.e. Floors, glass, mirrors, trash, and etc.
  • Ensure membership staff reach out to the program directors with any questions/concerns for their respective programs/departments.
  • Coordinate birthday parties with both the Sports Directors (gym) and Aquatics Director (pool), as well as send any facility use requests to the Senior Program Director for scheduling.
Responsible for membership team call-outs and assisting in finding substitute coverage when needed. Time dedicated to marketing efforts, membership reporting and retention initiatives, and potential opportunities for subbing as needed. Daytime hours
Mon-Friday Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
