  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a creative and community-oriented Program Lead
  • Social & Recreational Programming to design and lead the social life of Riverview Friends Together, a new and growing adult community program.
This role is responsible for building and overseeing a dynamic mix of evening and weekend programming that fosters connection, belonging, and meaningful engagement. Working closely with the Director of Programs and other program leads, this individual will lead the development of the Social & Recreational Program, including events, activities, and community-based experiences. This includes overseeing current alumni programming as it evolves into a broader, fully developed program over time. This is a hands-on leadership role in a startup environment, offering the opportunity to shape a program from the ground up while working directly with members and staff to create a vibrant and inclusive community. This role operates primarily during peak program hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The schedule is intentionally designed to align with member availability and the social and recreational nature of the program. Responsibilities Design and oversee a comprehensive calendar of social and recreational programming, including evening and weekend offerings Develop a mix of recurring programs and one-time events, including both member-specific and community-inclusive opportunities Facilitate or coordinate a portion of programming and maintain an active presence during program hours Lead seasonal planning of program schedules and ensure clear communication of offerings to members and families Ensure all program offerings are accurately entered and maintained within the scheduling system to support member participation Monitor participation trends and adjust programming in response to member interest and engagement Foster opportunities for member-led activities and support a culture of connection, inclusion, and shared ownership Build and maintain relationships with community partners to expand programming opportunities Hire, supervise, and support program staff, ensuring high-quality program delivery Oversee program operations during evenings and weekends, including safety, supervision, and site coordination Ensure incidents are documented and communicated appropriately, including coordination with families, program leadership, and support teams Coordinate with advising and day program staff to support continuity of communication and member experience across all program components Requirements Experience developing and leading recreational, social, or community-based programming Experience supervising staff or leading teams preferred Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities strongly preferred Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to design engaging, community-based experiences that support connection and participation Ability to work a schedule that includes afternoons, evenings, and weekends as a core and consistent function of the role Ability to work flexibly in a startup environment and contribute across roles as needed Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for community-based programming Why Join Us Friends Together is a new and evolving program designed to support adults in building meaningful, connected lives beyond school.
