Chicopee, MA Job Details Full-time From $30 an hour Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off 403(b) Life insurance Qualifications Teamwork Program management Volunteer management Bachelor's degree Organizational skills Full Job Description Position Summary The Director of Senior Companion Program and Planning provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for the Senior Companion Program (SCP). This role ensures effective program operations, strong community partnerships, and compliance with all federal, state, and agency requirements. The Director fosters an inclusive, respectful workplace while supporting staff development and volunteer engagement. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and management of the Senior Companion Program Supervise, train, and support program staff Recruit, orient, and place program volunteers Collaborate with advisory councils on program planning and policy development Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and volunteer stations Coordinate volunteer training and recognition efforts Prepare and submit annual program proposals and required reports Oversee program budget and ensure sound fiscal management Maintain accurate records (financial, personnel, volunteer, and program data) Ensure compliance with agency policies and funding requirements Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements Promote program visibility and community engagement Serve as liaison with stakeholders including service providers, families, and community partners Attend required trainings, including Corporation for National Service programs Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience:
1-2 years of relevant experience in program management, community services, or related field
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and administrative skills Experience working with older adults and/or volunteers Knowledge of community development or human services programs Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively Work Environment & Physical Requirements Occasional physical activity required Combination of office and community-based work Why Join Us?
