Job Description

There are 18 Community Justice Support Centers (CJSC) located across the state of MA with 10 managed by the Old Colony YMCA. Clients attend CJSC to participate in programs designed to improve their lives and avoid further criminal justice involvement. Each CJSC offers about 15 different programs, including cognitive behavioral treatment for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and to improve decision making, employment counseling, and Adult Basic Education, GED/HiSET, and post-secondary preparation. The Lead Program Monitor is responsible for oversight of all monitoring activities at the Dartmouth CJSC working with adults involved in the justice system experiencing addiction issues. S/he is responsible for supervising three Program Monitors including scheduling, training, covering vacant shifts and oversight of urine drug screens from clients. S/he will communicate with Center management on all issues and write reports as needed while ensuring a safe and secure environment for both staff and clients.
Typical job functions include:
Supervise all monitoring operations at the Center Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts Provide direct monitoring of clients in all phases of daily routines including break periods Monitor educational and clinical classes/groups Take accurate attendance of all clients Maintain accurate communication log entries Collection and documentation of urine screens Write incident reports as needed and communicate concerns to program management Responsible for on-going training of security staff Provide feedback on performance to staff and conduct annual performance reviews Screen and presents candidates for hire to program management Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and trainings as directed. Prevent crisis situations from escalating by intervening and counseling clients Provide support and assistance in any crisis situation Maintain work schedule as directed
Education/Experience/Physical Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or similar field preferred or Associates Degree with 4 years experience or high school diploma and 6 years experience At least one year of supervisory experience required Must have a valid Drivers License Must have visual and auditory acuity in order to maintain security of the center.
