The Framingham History Center is a non-profit dedicated to preserving and sharing the vibrant history of Framingham, Massachusetts. We aim to inspire curiosity and appreciation for our local heritage through engaging exhibits, educational programs, andmunity events.
Opportunity Overview:
The Mornings at the Museum Mentor will play a vital role in the execution of the Mornings at the Museum program at Framingham History Center. The Mornings at the Museum Program Mentors will work closely with the Education Manager to bring about the success of the program by providing support, leadership, and assistance in various tasks. Bilingual skills are encouraged but not required.
Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Program Mentors and Education Managers to uphold the program's vision and ensure high-quality programming. Lead a group of students through the daily schedule, ensuring a smooth flow of activities and engagement. Implement and facilitate curriculum activities designed to educate and entertain program participants. Assist in delegating tasks to students and fellow mentors to ensure efficient operation of the program. Provide support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist in setting up and cleaning up program spaces, materials, and equipment as needed. Communicate effectively with the Education Manager to address any concerns or issues that may arise during the program.
Preferred Skills/Experience Areas:
Previous experience working with children or youth in an educational or recreational setting is preferred. Stronganizational andmunication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Enthusiasm for history, education, and working with diverse groups of people. Must be reliable, punctual, and responsible. CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required. Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese. Must be over 18 to .
