YMCA of Metro North Y Academy - Out-of-School Time Program Lynn YMCA Behavioral Support Staff / Inclusion Specialist Part-Time | Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM Position Summary The Behavioral Support Staff / Inclusion Specialist plays a key role in supporting children with behavioral, social-emotional, or developmental needs within a safe, inclusive afterschool environment. This position partners with program staff and families to ensure all children are supported and able to fully participate in program activities. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized support using strengths-based, trauma-informed approaches Implement behavior support strategies and assist with individualized plans Maintain a safe environment through active supervision and attentive transitions Communicate regularly with staff and leadership regarding student progress and needs Document and report incidents in accordance with EEC and YMCA policies Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program events Support overall program operations as needed Qualifications Must be at least 20 years of age Experience working with youth required; experience with behavioral or developmental support preferred Knowledge of behavior management, trauma-informed care, or inclusive practices a plus Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain calm, flexible, and responsive in a dynamic environment CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain Physical Requirements Ability to actively engage with and supervise children in indoor and outdoor settings Ability to meet the physical demands of a youth program environment Requirements Ability to work the scheduled hours (Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM) Completion of EEC and YMCA required trainings within designated timeframes Documentation of physical exam and immunizations as required by EEC Verification of education and experience
