Job Description

The Pediatric Trauma Program Coordinator (PTPC) is responsible for the organization of services and systems, in collaboration with the Trauma Center, necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to the injured pediatric patient. The PTPC works in collaboration with the trauma program leadership and Pediatric Trauma Medical Director to improve the quality of trauma care while encompassing all areas and disciplines of the hospital that participate in the management of the injured patient.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinates quality management and performance improvement for a level 2 Pediatric Trauma program in partnership with the Pediatric Trauma Medical Director. Assists in coordination of the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) in compliance with the American College of Surgeons. Adheres to system and department compliance policies, and any applicable laws and regulations. Coordinates public and professional trauma education classes Coordinating and managing the Pediatric Trauma service peer review process, which includes review of trauma patient's charts, identification of hospital events adhering to the National Trauma Data Bank (NTDB) guidelines, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes. Development and implementation of initiatives aimed to enhance the quality of care for pediatric trauma patients. Act as trauma resource and liaison for personnel in the health system including agencies and institutions. Assess the initial management of trauma patients to assure compliance with clinical practice guidelines. Develop action plans for implementation in order to improve trends and provide loop closure on outcomes resulting from implementation. Develop multidisciplinary Performance Improvement (PI) meeting agendas to assure that required regulatory items are addressed according to ACS-COT standards Manage information flow to the trauma service line, PI teams within the organization and other committees as necessary. May attend daily rounds to assist in identifying complications for presentation at Morbidity and Mortality meetings as well as monthly Performance Improvement Program Operations meetings. Ensures related horizontal and vertical quality performance improvement communication hospital-wide is managed in a highly confidential and timely manner. Collaborates with the Injury Prevention Coordinator on hospital wide educational incentives in order to help improve care to the trauma patients within the health organization.

MA QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required Bachelor's degree in nursing required
TNCC, ENPC, TCAR
preferred Quality Improvement experience strongly preferred Strong clinical background in pediatrics Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines, ability to facilitate performance improvement process Ability to lead teams through difficult discussions

The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees. Minimum
