POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Youth Program Instructor, this person will play an important part in the work that we do each day. This position averages 5 hours per week but can be supplemented with hours in child watch, wellness floor, or custodial services. In addition to all other duties as assigned, this role will:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in the development, implementation and instruction of high-quality preschool, youth, and family programming. Create a climate that fosters YMCA goals for a fun, engaging atmospheres for all participants. Ensure that program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed. Assist with reporting, mailings, phone calls and research as requested. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions. Ensure proper care, use, and storage of equipment. Assist in program marketing, promotion, evaluation, and retention. Assist with member recruitment and conversion opportunities for participants. Facilitate communication, provide leadership, exercise sound judgment, and provide high level conflict resolution skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements and preferences (where indicated) for this role are listed below. Please review them carefully to ensure that you apply for the role that best matches your qualifications. Additional years of professional experience or a Rank of E-5 or better may be used in lieu of education requirements where permitted. One to two years of related experience working with children, such as a sports coach or instructor. Experience in program development and/or building curriculum. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
