ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
Safe Exit Initiative (SEI) is a Survivor-led nonprofit organization where survivors of systems of prostitution and allies collaborate in providing support to victims and Survivors of the sex trade - populations that are routinely neglected and marginalized by society. Our mission is to provide quality exit services and supports to prostituted individuals and to end prostitution. We have developed a comprehensive approach to accomplishing our mission which includes advocacy for social change and justice for survivors, leading legislative initiatives at national, state, and local levels, providing training and consulting services to community-based partners such as medical providers, social services agencies, and law enforcement, and developing and delivering education and outreach services for community members and academic institutions.
JANA'S PLACE
Jana's Place opened in October 2019. Jana's Place is the first-of-its-kind recovery home for women exiting prostitution and in early recovery from substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders. We are looking for candidates excited to join a growing organization working to change the traditional model of recovery to meet the unique needs of women with histories of exploitation in the sex trade. Successful candidates must be open to learning how to implement a multifaceted treatment model, enthusiastic about helping women build their own paths to recovery and committed to creating a culture that promotes social change, reduces inequality for survivors and people in recovery, and embraces autonomy of patients in their own treatment. Program Director- Jana's Place Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Programmatic Responsibilities
  • Maintain a comprehensive mental health and substance use treatment program at Jane's Place.
  • Maintain the policies and procedures that support the program and reflect the agency's philosophy and objectives
  • Identify gaps in programming and develop staff and community partners to fill those gaps
  • Cultivate relationships with other organizations and individuals in the community to support the continued collaboration of programming
  • Increase education, screening, care coordination, risk reduction interventions, and counseling for patients with or at risk of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and other chronic illness associated with opioid use disorder
  • Complete staffing schedules, and provide on-call support
  • Provide shift coverage for crutial support Staff Development
  • Implement and oversee ongoing staff training and development
  • Complete direct care staff group and individual supervision
  • Develop training for staff in compliance with BSAS and DPH regulations
  • Manage employee relations including interviewing, onboarding, and training of new staff
  • Ensure all staff are appropriately trained on all policies and procedures
  • Managing staff disciplinary actions in a timely and efficient manner
  • Daily oversight of day-to-day program functions including supervision of staff and facilitation of scheduled groups, workshops, and meetings
  • Engage and interact with participants and staff on a daily basis
  • Work in collaboration with HR to coordinate training for staff as needed to support program
  • Ensure professional development of all staff on an ongoing basis
  • Responsible for timely performance reviews for all staff including setting performance goals and achievement plans with success benchmarks for evaluating progress
  • Coordinate training of staff to use all tools and follow all policies and procedures properly and consistently
  • Responsible for training staff on required documentation and charting procedures Compliance Management
  • Achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local policies and regulations
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of BSAS and DPH regulations and all other applicable federal, state, and local policies and regulations
  • Conduct regular internal chart audits as part of program quality control measures
  • Create, change, and update policies and procedures and patient handbook as required to meet program needs and compliance regulations
  • Provide administrative supervision and management of designated staff in compliance with regulations
  • Manage staff time and attendance, time-off requests and reimbursement submissions in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the program management and organizational senior leadership to ensure compliance with standards of care as regulated
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by senior leadership and or dictated by applicable regulations Minimum Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Must have experience managing direct-support staff
  • Must have experience with substance use disorders and mental health disorders
  • Must have experience with professional staff development, participating in the hiring process and in reducing headcount
  • Must have experience providing training around the Assertive Engagement model
  • Must recognize the need for systemic change is necessary to abolish prostitution, and to evolve recovery programming to meet the needs of our participants
  • Must be confident and comfortable advocating for the aforesaid systemic change and for the needs of our program and our patients at global, federal, state and local levels
  • Ability to manage and prioritizes a number of critical tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to hold staff accountable to policies and procedures and to expectations of their role
  • Ability to produce quality deliverables to upper management
  • Interest in professionally developing the Jana's Place staff, individually and collectively
  • Personal interest in and commitment to working with women who have been impacted by systems of prostitution
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Represent Jana's Place at both internal and external meetings
  • Must be able to take initiative in meeting the needs of the program, able to identify service and or personnel gaps and provide effective solutions in an effective manner
  • Must be solutions-driven
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiar with basic office equipment and software/programs
  • Must be punctual
  • Must set the tone for a professional workplace in demeanor, attitude, dress, and work product
  • Must be willing to be part of a rotating On-Call schedule of Jana's Place leadership which may require coming into the Program in the middle of the night in the event of an emergency
  • Ability to act as critical shift coverage for any and all shifts in the event of emergencies or shift staff shortage Preferred Qualifications
  • Lived experience preferred, but not required
  • CPR certified, or willing to obtain within the first 3 months of employment
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or two years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of BSAS and other regulatory guidelines
