Job Description The position responsibilities include working with TPP members, DOD organizations, the College of Southern Maryland, St. Mary's College of Maryland, USMSM, UMCP (@SMART), the NAWCAD and their Strategic Education Office (SEO), MD Department of Commerce and MD Dept. of Labor and St. Mary's, Charles, and Calvert County public, private and home school systems. The incumbent will work with the Executive Director (ED) to develop programs of interest to NAWCAD/ NAVAIR and our member organizations. The incumbent will work to expand apprentice opportunities, identify resource/ funding opportunities, and build timelines. The incumbent will lead current programs such as SPARK! Career Awareness Fairs and recruit industry, government and nonprofit partners for internships and apprenticeships. Incumbent will work with the above listed academic organizations to recruit high school and college students for these opportunities. The incumbent will also work with our IPAs on an annual IPA roundtable and engagement in TPP programs. Update / create MOUs as needed and provide monthly/ quarterly program performance metrics and briefings. Job Responsibilities Programs
  • Coordinates all Program outreach activities with Executive Director.
  • Works with ED to develop TPP Programs and events, with Admin/Program Coordinator assistance to include site visits, venue negotiations, services, catering, A/V requirements, set up and registration management, managing event expenses within approved budget.
  • Work with the ED to create a 12-month "look-ahead" program calendar, possible speakers and sponsors.
  • Work with ED to determine staffing, agendas, speakers and program registration process.
  • Coordinate completion of program attendance data, name badges, rosters, financial reports, onsite handouts and announcement slides. Track attendance post program. May require oversight of multiple timelines.
  • Work with Communications Manager on timelines for media announcements.
  • Assist as needed, with Program reporting through NEON CRM, WebEx, or other content management platforms
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Educational Outreach
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with above organizations, TPP Members, and State and Local Workforce organizations to accomplish objectives.
  • Build on the TPP comprehensive communications strategy to optimize student and parent outreach and awareness of apprentice/intern, and other STEM opportunities in SoMD.
  • Sustain the internship program for college students across career fields, including professional development.
  • Work with partners to provide student apprentices and interns education on security clearances.
  • Lead the planning and execution of

Fair
  • venue, agreements, exhibitors, coordination with schools, registration tracking, catering, metrics, participant evaluations and feedback, and other related arrangements.
  • Maintain Memoranda of Understanding/Memoranda of Agreement with our partner in industry/government/academia on credentialing/certificates/other learning measures for our apprentices and interns.
  • Develop metrics for apprentice/interns for effectiveness, updates, and career opportunities.
  • Identify intern candidates through outreach including: TPP newsletter, social media, The Communicator, industry events, on-site or virtual academic outreach events.
  • Continue professional development for interns, such as: resume development, interview skills, strategic thinking, career paths and advancement opportunities with NAWCAD, obtaining a security clearance, and mentoring.
Special Position Requirements Local travel will be required. Some early morning and evening programs will require adjustment to normal work hours. Work Environment The majority of the position will be performed in an office environment requiring the employee to communicate through email, phone, and in-person with co-workers, members, clients, etc. This position requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time with occasional periods of standing and walking at events. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee may be required to occasionally lift heavy items up to approximately 25lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
