COMMUNITY
EDUCATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Reports to: Director of Community Education
Department:

Works with: Administrators, Community Members, Students, Teachers, Childcare Staff
Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Community Education, this position develops, staffs, coordinates and evaluates programs within the umbrella of Community Education. This includes a portion of Childcare, Early Childhood, Recreation, and Enrichment programming. ���������������������_____________________________________________________________________________________
Duties/Responsibilities:
PERSONNEL
With direction and support from the Director of Community Education, recruit, hire and train staff based on program needs.
Conducts non-licensed staff evaluations and handles personnel issues.
Develops and provides program orientation, on-going staff development and training opportunities for staff
PROGRAM
Coordinates, monitors and provides leadership to program staff in the daily conduct of programs.
Directs for development of collaborative lesson planning between Early Childhood programs and childcare for best practices.
Communicates and problem solves with administrators, parents district personnel regarding students, staff and/or program issues.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Assists and makes recommendations concerning fiscal needs and requirements.
Responsible for record keeping, billing and fee management of programs.
COMMUNICATIONS
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Having the ability to communicate with children, staff, parents, administrators, and building personnel regarding concerns, issues, and activities.
Interactions require the explanation of program operational rules, working with others to gain cooperation and understanding of issues/needs.
GENERAL LEADERSHIP
Knowledge of practices, techniques and fundamentals of all Community Education Programs
Fundamentals of supervision and supervisory techniques
Knowledge of School Age Care, Department of Human Services, and Early Childhood program operational policies and procedures
Perform administrative activities involved in maintaining, updating and preparing staff files, records and reports with requirements.
Job Requirements:
Minnesota Teaching license: Birth to 3rd Grade Early Childhood Education
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field OR 3 years equivalent experience
1 to 3 years prior work-related experience preferred in education or related field
Must possess strong communication skills to direct and build relationships with students, administrators, other staff members, parents and community members.
Work Environment:
This is an administrative and supervisory position performing job duties and assignments in a typical office environment where there are a minimum of environmental hazards and risks associated with performing the job.
Physical Job Requirements:
Employee is continuously required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk, and hear; frequently sits, stoops, kneels and/or crouches, reach with hands and arms in the performance of the job. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally; and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

This position follows the Program Managers Contract and is a 12-month position. The salary range will be $50,164 to $60,590. Additional benefits are offered for health insurance, 403B, PERA, vacation time, and sick time.
