Job Description

As a Prevention Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting households by providing housing stability-focused case management services related to meeting the housing needs of program participants and helping them to prevent any episodes of homelessness. Services may include problem-solving, crisis intervention, education on tenant rights and responsibilities, mediation services, tenancy supports, and coordination with landlords. You will be the first line of contact for households calling the agency inquiring about Housing Services, resources, referrals, crisis intervention and problem solving. Job Requirements:
At least 2 years or more recent experience working with community residents facing critical hardships. Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required. Able to maintain confidentiality of all discussions and records. Resourceful, patient and sensitive to the needs of staff, children and families. Culturally sensitive to work in a diverse community. Some transportation required for employment Lived experience welcome Experience, ability and commitment to working with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants and community. Knowledge of culturally based world-view and problem-solving practices individuals and families in urban neighborhoods impacted by crime, poverty, and racial inequity. The successful candidate must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a drivers' license; a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is required.
