This role ensures high‑quality, compliant, and effective service delivery across multiple locations and partner organizations. The Program Director oversees policy development, staff leadership, performance outcomes, and operational consistency while supporting program growth, budgeting, and strategic initiatives in partnership with the Senior Director.
Salary:
$74,000 - $81,000 annually Program Leadership & Operations Provide statewide oversight of financial counseling services across multiple locations and partners Ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality service delivery aligned with organizational and regulatory standards Establish performance metrics and monitor outcomes to drive continuous improvement Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices Funding & Strategic Growth Lead efforts to secure and sustain funding through grants, contracts, and partnerships Support grant writing, RFP development, and program expansion initiatives Partner with senior leadership to identify new opportunities and advance strategic priorities Team Leadership Supervise and support supervisors, managers, and program staff (20-30 total staff across teams) Hire, coach, and develop leaders to ensure strong performance and engagement Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture Financial Management Oversee program budget (~$4.5M) in partnership with senior leadership Monitor expenses and ensure responsible financial stewardship Partnerships & Representation Build and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and service providers Represent the organization in meetings, networks, and community forums Why Join Us Opportunity to lead a statewide, high-impact program Collaborative, mission-driven environment Ability to shape services that improve financial well-being across communities Competitive salary and benefits package
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 5 years of experience in human services and/or financial services industry required. One year of management/leadership experience required, two years of experience preferred Strong computer skills and ability to use MS offices application and specialized data base systems. Good time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required Incumbent requires having technical knowledge of consumer credit trends and laws, National Foundation for Credit Counseling policies and standards and State of Minnesota debt prorate regulations to advise staff and clients and for office management. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills are required for resolving clients' financial difficulties and staff issues. Excellent supervisory and leadership skills required Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required Ability to allocate time and resources when financial resources are limited or reduced.
