Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks each day Experience with budget-related tasks and proficiency in Excel Experience with project and event planning and creating event, program, and project outreach Proficiency with Google Workspace tools, Canva, and communication technologies A record of working effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders from diverse backgrounds Spanish language skills Clifford J. Benson Center for Community Partnerships & Office of Sustainability 100%-time during the academic year (9 mos.), with a 50% summer appointment (3 mos.); 12 month continuous position. Primary Responsibilities Administrative & Office Operations - 25% Serve as the face of the Benson Center, staffing the front desk and ensuring every visitor, caller, and web contact receives informed, friendly assistance. Maintain deep familiarity with all center programs, events, and opportunities. Confidently answer questions and connect people with the right resources. Manage contact lists, oversee the student staff check-in/out system, and keep work areas organized and functional. Provide calendar management and scheduling support for the Benson Center and Sustainability directors. Coordinate logistics across projects, programs, and events — including a streamlined process for faculty, staff, and students to submit logistical requests. Serve as Welcome Center front desk back up staff as needed. Budgets and Financial Processes - 25% Serve as the Center's financial backbone maintaining a thorough understanding of Benson Center and Sustainability budget priorities. Exercise sound, independent judgment on day-to-day spending decisions, budget transfers, and financial processes, and manage all purchasing, billing, and reconciliation for complex, multi-source budgets. Deliver clear weekly budget updates at staff meetings and take a lead role in coordinating annual budget planning. Programs, Projects & People - 25% Support engagement projects' full lifecycle — from inquiry through formal project agreement — maintaining accurate planning documentation. Provide logistical and administrative support for ongoing programs, meetings, and events, and keep program manuals current. Oversee the hiring pipeline for students, faculty, and short-term staff, including screening interviews, partner coordination, and onboarding. Champion student success by tracking engagement hours, sharing weekly updates at staff meetings, and reviewing and approving timesheets. Communications, Outreach & Assessment - 25% Amplify the Benson Center's visibility and impact through consistent, polished, multi-channel communications — including social media, newsletters, the center website, press releases, brochures, and other print/digital materials — aligned with UMN communications standards. Coordinate internal communications and campus-wide messaging. Serve as the center's lead for UM Connect -- the UMN GivePulse community engagement software platform) serving as UMN system liaison and attending systemwide meetings, onboarding new users through regular training sessions, and troubleshooting platform issues. Manage UM Connect setup each term, support robust data collection, and provide data exports (e.g., verifying students' completion of Morris Core Experiences.) Coordinate surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Provide reports on student and faculty engagement and community impact. Work with Benson Center and Sustainability staff to complete and disseminate annual reports.Work Location:
