Job Description
We believe strong communities are the foundation for strong children and families and that all young people deserve the opportunity to flourish. We uplift youth through mentoring, independent living skills training, and student-led advisory groups. We engage with families to ensure they are engaged as true collaborators. We bring together committed partners to foster a stronger Goodhue County, working with government agencies, schools, businesses, individual community members, parents, and youth to identify challenges facing our youth and devise solutions collectively. Full-time, 36 hours per week, grant-funded through June 30th, 2027. Job Summary The In-School Program Coordinator will oversee RiseUp Partnership's programming within a school in Goodhue County, supporting youth through prevention, intervention, and enrichment initiatives. This position manages referrals, connects youth to adult mentors, facilitates group programs such as Rising Together, partners with school and community organizations, tracks program outcomes, and ensures youth and families are connected to resources. The role requires strong organizational skills, experience in youth development, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a school-based setting. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Partnerships Develop and coordinate the "in-school program" in collaboration with schools, coworkers, community partners, and the Director of Programs by attending staff, committee, and partner meetings, researching best and promising practices, and identifying community gaps and needs. Assist in coordinating the "summer program" with the Summer Program Coordinator. Work with schools, coworkers, and the Director of Programs to ensure program outcomes align with school, agency, and program goals. Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with all grant requirements related to the program. Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all participants, modeling positive youth development practices. Supervise and support adult and peer mentors, volunteers, and AmeriCorps Fellows to ensure consistent, high-quality engagement with youth. Recruit, onboard, and retain mentors and volunteers, including oversight of background checks and training. Build and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local leaders to expand opportunities for youth. Program Management Provide individual and group mentorship opportunities for students via direct services or through volunteer mentors. Create and facilitate social-emotional skill development curriculum for students. Support youth in completing education-related milestones. Collaborate with community partners to bring in meaningful learning opportunities that align with students' cultural learning needs. Support youth leadership opportunities and encourage youth advocacy to help students address concerns within their community. Ensure programming reflects best practices in youth development, mentoring, and social-emotional learning. Coordinate schedules, activities, and logistics (including transportation and supervision) to ensure smooth program operations. Provide orientation, guidance, and ongoing support to adult and peer mentors, volunteers, and AmeriCorps Fellows. Collaborate with internal staff, including the Parent Engagement Coordinator and Marketing team, to strengthen family connections and program visibility. Assist mentors by planning and organizing mentoring meetings and activities. Maintain communication with parents about program updates, student progress, and behavior. Track participation, maintain program records, and support evaluation and reporting efforts. Report programming status and updates to the Director of Programs monthly. Administrative & Organizational Support Maintain accurate youth documentation, including case notes, assessments, intake, and outcome data, ensuring compliance with program requirements. Monitor program expenses in alignment with budget expectations. Support fundraising and community events through coordination of youth participation. Complete a minimum of 40 hours of professional development annually. Perform other duties as assigned to support program success. Minimum Qualifications Experience working with youth, youth leadership programs, or youth development activities. Ability to facilitate groups and build positive relationships with youth. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with schools and community partners. Ability to work some evenings or occasional weekends for youth meetings or events. Reliable transportation to travel to schools and meetings across Goodhue County. Commitment to supporting youth leadership and inclusive engagement. Preferred Skills and Experience Bilingual Spanish/English language skills. Experience working with youth councils, youth advisory groups, or leadership programs. Experience organizing events, meetings, or community activities. Experience building partnerships with schools or community organizations. Bachelor's degree in education, social work, youth development, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Lived experience navigating systems that impact youth and families is valued.
