Job Description

Are you passionate about mental wellness and ready to lead mission-critical community engagement? NAMI Southeast Minnesota is seeking an Outreach Program Coordinator to promote our services across Southeast Minnesota and help us make our community events a success! If you possess proven event planning skills and a commitment to advocacy, you will be the face of our non-profit mission to improve mental wellness through listening, advocating, informing, and leading. Key Responsibilities & Results This core mission position is responsible for leading and overseeing community events and working with all types of community partners (mental health professionals, event planners, donors, volunteers) to achieve annual program objectives.
Event Planning & Management:
Plan, organize, and support events such as NAMIWalks, outreach events, fundraising events, and community awareness activities. Responsibilities may include site selection, logistics, scheduling, purchasing, promotion, setup, day-of coordination, and problem-solving. Community Outreach & Partnership Development Develop and strengthen community partnerships that create opportunities to grow NAMI SE MN's education and support programs. Represent
NAMI SE MN
with community organizations, schools, workplaces, healthcare providers, faith communities, civic groups, and other partners to increase awareness of available programs and identify opportunities for collaboration, referrals, presentations, classes, and support groups.
Representation:
Act as a community representative of
NAMI SE MN
at organizational and community events. Volunteer & Partner Coordination Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and other staff to ensure events are appropriately staffed and
Qualifications Required:
Proven experience planning, coordinating, or managing events. Personal, family, volunteer, or professional experience with mental health advocacy or mental wellness is strongly valued. Working knowledge of NAMI programs, or willingness to learn. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to represent NAMI Southeast Minnesota professionally, respectfully, and compassionately. Ability to handle donor information, sponsorships, and event-related funds accurately and confidentially. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in social media content creation and planning.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, social work, public health, event planning, or a related field. Experience working with individuals and families affected by mental health conditions. Experience with nonprofit fundraising, sponsorships, donor communications, or community outreach.
Position Details & Benefits Hourly Rate:
$22-$28/hour , depending on experience.
Schedule:
Full-time (32 hours per week), non-exempt position. Some weekend and evening obligations will occur with notice for events.
Travel:
Travel may be required several times a year for training and events.
