Anna Marie's Alliance Vision:
a world free of relationship abuse. This is done by providing direct services for children and youth in area schools and youth serving organizations, and by offering violence prevention and education to community through outreach and tabling events, workplace trainings, and community presentations. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Four-year degree in human service field (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education), or four years equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience working with children, and youth
- Experience in training groups, and/or group facilitation
- Fully operational vehicle, valid driver's license and current car insurance Preferred Experience
- Experience working with multi-cultural groups
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and/or Somali languages and understanding of cultures
Essential Functions:
Plan and facilitate healthy relationship skill-building groups in the area schools, as well as other designated communities, including Anna Marie's Shelter. Communicate with school staff and recommend other resources and referrals as necessary. Develop effective working relationships in the community and provide flexible programing to meet the changing needs of those we serve During summer months, provide prevention and education services in youth-serving organizations and assist with summer programming at Anna Marie's Shelter. Develop education materials, and presentations related to violence prevention and intervention Deliver trainings and presentations to workplaces and community organizations as requested. Attend awareness events and represent Anna Marie's Alliance services in the community. Develop networks and build alliances with area schools and community organizations. Provide direct one-to-one services with youth as requested. Demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries. Regular accurate and consistent updating of data in the agency's system. (Vela) Follow agency protocol for maintaining timekeeping records in required formats. Submit timesheets according to agency standards and deadlines. Compile and submit reports each month on prevention education services as stipulated in grants. Stay up-to-date on the latest research available on violence prevention and education through reading, attending seminars, webinars and conferences. Participate in check-in meetings with Manager of Community Services, and in other meetings as requested. Carry out other duties as necessary to ensure organizational success. Physical Demands This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs; will need to carry presentation materials (laptop and handouts) to and from meetings. Ability to bring materials to awareness events in the community. This position will use office equipment, including computer and telephone. Travel This position is required to travel to schools and community locations on a daily basis.
