Send to Friend As the Student Success & Programs Intern, you'll play an active role supporting students, volunteers and internal teams while building in-demand skills like project management, customer service and data management. This hands-on internship offers immersive exposure to nonprofit scholarships, operations, programs and partner engagement at Agriculture Future of America (AFA). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Scholarship Program Support:
Support scholarship application and reporting processes through data review, application logic and eligibility alignment Assist in confirming scholarship eligibility criteria to improve applicant matching and reporting accuracy Contribute to scholarship model enhancements that improve the user experience and partner value Assist with reporting and data organization related to scholarship applicants and partner needs
Stakeholder Communication & Customer Service:
Support development and implementation of templated responses for students, volunteers and scholarship partners Monitor shared inboxes regularly and respond or escalate inquiries appropriately with a high level of professionalism and customer service Identify opportunities to improve communication efficiency and response consistency
Program Implementation & Project Management:
Assist with attendee data management and event preparation activities and logistics Support development and organization of program resources and materials Support project management follow-up tasks, meeting action items and internal coordination efforts Collaborate with staff across departments to support organizational initiatives and special projects
Professional Development:
Participate in AFA team trainings, meetings and organizational events occurring during the internship timeframe Gain exposure to nonprofit leadership, project management practices and cross-functional collaboration Provide perspective and feedback to help improve student and stakeholder experiences

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Current sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in agricultural education, communications, business, leadership, nonprofit management, agricultural economics, data management or related fields Strong written communication and organizational skills Experience in building forms, implementing logic and formulas for data and reporting Experience working in team environments through coursework, organizations, employment or volunteer involvement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous involvement in AFA programs or events Experience with customer service, event support, project coordination or data management Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace or CRM/database systems Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This position primarily operates in a professional office environment with opportunities for collaborative team interaction and event support activities. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, and subject to reasonable accommodation, the intern will frequently operate a computer and office equipment. The position requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods and regularly communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Occasionally, the intern may assist with moving or organizing materials and supplies weighing up to 10 pounds. Position Type / Hours of Work This is a full-time summer internship position lasting approximately 10 weeks. Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend responsibilities associated with programs or events. Travel Limited local travel may be required for meetings, events or program support activities. Occasional overnight travel associated with AFA programs may occur.
