Job Description

Simon School of Business at Maryville University (St. Louis) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Finance for the 2026-2027 academic year. We seek a dynamic individual who will work on campus and contribute to our forward-thinking, student-centered business programs. Essential Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance, including but not limited to Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Markets, and related electives. Advise and mentor students on academic progress, career planning, and research projects. Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to research initiatives within the field of Finance. Participate in service to the department, university, and broader academic and professional communities. Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement and assessment of Finance programs. Engage with the business community to enhance experiential learning and internship opportunities for students. Act as a point of contact and help develop deeper relationships with part-time faculty. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications PhD or DBA in Finance or a closely related field (ABD candidates will be considered if degree is conferred by August 2026). Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Ability to work on campus and engage in face-to-face instruction and service. Preferred Qualifications Professional experience in the finance industry or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CFP). Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology-enhanced learning.
