POSITION SUMMARY
Provide pre-employment/work readiness training to Adult (A) and Dislocated Worker (DW) individuals. Candidate will instruct classes on goal setting, workplace etiquette, behavior modification, cognitive skill development—decision making, time management, emotional intelligence, planning/prioritization, flexibility, career exploration, job search skills, team building & interaction, resume writing, interviewing techniques, and conflict resolution practices.
JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Understand and assess customer training needs.
  • Challenge individuals to improve their skills and attitudes about work while building confidence.
  • Manage classroom environment and provide individuals with relevant labor market data.
  • Plan/design new training initiatives and related materials to meet individual needs; set training objectives.
  • Tailor existing training information to suit target audience and career pathways.
  • Revaluate material for ongoing effectiveness/remain current with employment trends.
  • Provide instruction on employment retention skills.
  • Provide constructive feedback to individuals.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers or Employment Specialists/Job Coaches to advise of observations of individual behaviors. identification of new barriers, vocational education, and training plan updates to assist in effective coordination of service provision.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES
Experienced in interacting with a diverse population. Experienced public speaker. Must communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing). Ability to successfully maintain a professional classroom/training environment. Ability to achieve 90% class-retention/graduation rate. Must maintain thorough, detailed documentation and data input into MoJobs. Must be familiar with standard office equipment, Microsoft Office Suite, MoJobs, and live streaming. Must have experience working in a demanding, fast-paced work environment. Must have excellent attention to detail.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or master's degree in education, business, social work, human services or a related field. 2-4 years of education or training experience.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
