OVERVIEW
Position Summary
At Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, the Program Manager plays a key leadership role by guiding and supporting Mental Health Workers to ensure a safe, trauma-informed environment for youth. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Program Manager collaborates with other leaders to uphold the mission and values of the organization.
Position Details
This role is instrumental in driving progress toward the goals outlined in the strategic plan. Additionally, the Program Manager serves as a primary liaison with external agencies, community partners, and families, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teamwork
Effectively leads the team toward achieving goals, including recognizing performance, administering discipline, addressing concerns, and resolving issues. Collaborate with the Lodge's Treatment Team, ensuring timely and outcome-focused treatment documentation and implementation. Actively participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) initiatives.
Performance
Manages performance through evaluations, coaching, counseling, and corrective action when needed. Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and guidance to ensure professional training, certification, and adherence to YBGR policies and treatment philosophy. Proactively identify challenges and seek effective solutions. Foster constructive and supportive interactions with colleagues across the organization.
Management
Manage administrative duties including scheduling, supervision, budgeting, and other tasks as assigned. Engage in monthly supervision and coaching sessions with the assigned supervisor. Executes supervisory responsibilities in compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Oversee the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of staff. The Program Manager provides leadership and supervision to Mental Health Workers and Lead Mental Health Workers.
Compliance
Comply with all organizational policies, systems, safety protocols, and procedures. Complete all required training relevant to the role and beneficial to YBGR.
Support
Build and maintain effective communication and relationships with youth families and external stakeholders. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment that supports youth in achieving their treatment goals. Maintain cultural and socioeconomic awareness of the populations served.

Qualifications
21 years old or older. Criminal /
Child Abuse Clearance:
Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
Education
An advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field and two years of relevant experience; or. A Bachelor's degree in social work or a comparable human service field and four or more years of relevant experience.
Skills
Use of computer and able to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions. Demonstrated professional skills in crisis intervention and de-escalation. Demonstrated professional skills in leadership and staff development. Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking. Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse individuals and build rapport with those individuals.
Certification
Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention.

If an internal candidate does not meet the above requirements but has demonstrated competency and potential ability to complete the duties of the position through their work experience with YBGR, they may be considered for the position based on staffing needs. This consideration would come with a personalized career development plan, requiring enhanced supervision and development, along with actively pursuing and completing any unmet educational requirements.
License
License to operate passenger vehicle.
