Job Description

Position Overview Serve as a key leader of the Montana Council Support Service team providing quality training, programs, and resources. Give leadership to the Council's programs (Resident Camps, Activities, Training, Advancement, etc.). Serve as the professional staff advisor to the Council Program Committees, such as Training, Advancement, Camp Programs, NCAP, Aquatics, Range and Target Activities, COPE/Climbing. Position is responsible to the Chief Operating Officer. Frequent travel (approximately 25%) around the state is required for this position, especially during the summer camp season. Principal Responsibilities Responsible for the budgeting, organization, staffing, promotion, safety and execution of the Council Camp Programs (Scouts BSA, Cub Resident, Cub Family, and/or Day Camp). Responsible for the promotion of Council Camping opportunities. Serve as the professional staff advisor to
Council Committees:
such as Training, Advancement, Jamboree, Camp Programs, Council Camporee, NCAP, Aquatics, Shooting Sports, COPE/Climbing. Be directly responsible for the budgeting, organization, staffing, promotion, safety and execution of all agreed upon Activities of the committee(s). Recruit chairs and staff for events in a timely fashion. Work with marketing staff to develop professional promotional materials. Develop fiscally responsible proposals and budgets. Achieve agreed-upon program goals. Work closely with volunteers to improve and deliver the highest quality programs, activities and trainings resulting in increased member retention. Collaborate with Director of Marketing for media support (creative material, eNewsletter, online promotion, etc.). Work closely with Support Services team to assure timely, accurate and courteous communications, registrations, and record-keeping for Activities, Trainings, and Camping Events Contribute regularly to, and assist in monitoring, the Council Website and electronic communications (eNewsletter/Calendar/Social Media) for accuracy and timeliness. Special Responsibilities
  • Accept assignments deemed necessary by supervisor for the successful operation of Montana Council.
