Job Description

Day Program Specialist Schedule:
8:30am - 4:30pm Responsibilities Ability to plan and facilitate quality programming for adults with brain injury in social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and pre-vocational domain areas while creating engaging opportunities that promote independence, skill development, community integration, and overall quality of life while adapting activities to meet individual abilities and needs. Assure and maintain safety and the member-driven environment that fosters growth. Transport or transporting members individually or on group outings utilizing agency vehicles (15 passenger van and 12 passenger transit van) Develop and apply technical knowledge to improve performance, problem-solving, and service delivery and demonstrate competency in cultural awareness, decision-making, written and oral communication as well as having comprehensive clinical practice skills Required Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license with 5 years of driving experience, car insurance, and clean driving record. Ability to drive a 15-passenger bus and operate a wheelchair lift) This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related human services field and experience working with the targeted population and be eligible for NC classification as a Qualified Professional according to the Dept of Health and Human Services. Experience planning and facilitating quality programming in a member-driven group environment. Must have no substantiated findings of abuse or neglect listed and be in good standing on the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry Preferred CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist), LRT (Licensed Recreational Therapist) CBIS (Certified Brain Injury Specialist) or willing to gain this professional training
