Exempt / Full-time Position (37.5 hours) SUMMARY The NC Pre-K Program Coach serves as the primary contact to NC Pre-K teachers, directors, and support staff focused on effective implementation of curriculum, formative assessment, literacy, social-emotional learning practices, and constructive family partnership practices through a combination of coaching, consultation, training, and technical assistance. This position works closely with participating NC Pre-K providers to support high-quality classroom practices, responsive learning environments, continuous quality improvement, and successful implementation of NC Pre-K program requirements. The Program Coach also collaborates with BPFC staff, technical assistance providers, and community partners to support professional learning, teacher development, enrollment coordination, and program operations. In addition to coaching and technical assistance responsibilities, this position supports aspects of NC Pre-K program implementation including enrollment processes, provider communication, monitoring activities, data systems, and operational coordination.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The NC Pre-K Program Coach will : Create a climate of support, encouragement, and empowerment for NC Pre-K teachers, directors, children, and families. Develop and monitor program and individual quality improvement plans to support effective implementation of the NC Pre-K program. Support teaching staff in utilization of Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, state literacy initiatives, and developmentally appropriate classroom practices to inform instructional planning and child-specific supports. Use data to inform coaching priorities and responsive support plans for teachers and programs. Provide coaching, consultation, technical assistance, and professional learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom-based support, team coaching, virtual support, and group learning opportunities. Develop, coordinate, and support monthly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), the annual NC Pre-K Summer Preservice, and ongoing professional development opportunities for NC Pre-K teaching staff. Collaborate with BPFC Child Care Resources staff and other ECE technical assistance providers to coordinate responsive supports and services for participating programs. Assist the Program Director with ongoing monitoring of NC Pre-K requirements, local policies, and related documentation across participating provider sites. Support use and maintenance of NC Pre-K state and local data systems/platforms as assigned. Assist the Program Director with onboarding new NC Pre-K sites and teaching staff, including orientation to required systems, processes, and program expectations. Maintain organized records, templates, checklists, and shared resources to support consistent communication and implementation. Assist with preparation of program reports, updates, and materials for stakeholders, committees, and advisory groups. Collaborate with internal staff and community partners to support NC Pre-K outreach and enrollment, kindergarten transition, and provider engagement efforts as needed. Assist the Program Director with supporting teacher licensure processes and enrollment with the Early Educator Support (EES) Unit as assigned. Participate on local and regional committees and collaborative initiatives as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university. Minimum three years' experience in an early childhood environment. Experience with technical assistance, coaching or mentoring is preferred. Firsthand NC Pre-K related experience is highly preferred Level 11 Early Educator Certification from NCECPDI is preferred. Qualified candidates without this certification must be willing to pursue additional higher education to receive the certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of adult learning styles and classroom best practices. Ability to establish rapport and effectively communicate with individuals of varying ages, educational levels, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ability to present and maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn additional software applications. Knowledge of Teaching Strategies Gold and Creative Curriculum is highly preferred.
