Partners for Children and Families, Inc. (pfcfmc.org) is looking for a special candidate to provide Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) coaching to families in Moore County, NC. This is a rare opportunity in the non-profit sector to work with a professional (low drama) team to enrich our local community, particularly the lives of our youngest children. The Family Outreach Specialist plays a meaningful role in supporting parents, guardians, and caregivers as they build confidence, strengthen relationships with their children, and navigate everyday parenting challenges. This role provides evidence-based Triple P services—Level 4 Standard and Level 3 Primary Care—to caregivers across the community. Through welcoming outreach, practical support, and strong partnerships, the Family Outreach Specialist helps families feel connected, respected, and empowered. This role supports our mission to strengthen families, promote healthy child development, and help children enter school ready to succeed. You'll join a well-established, supportive Triple P team that values collaboration, professionalism, and a low-drama work environment. We provide strong systems, technical and administrative support, and ongoing professional development. Triple P training and certification are included. This position is ideal for someone who brings warmth, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working alongside families with care and encouragement. Key Responsibilities Program Delivery Deliver strengths-based Triple P services (Level 4 and Level 3) to caregivers in individual and family sessions. Create a welcoming, respectful learning environment where caregivers feel heard and supported. Help caregivers build positive parenting skills, manage child behavior, and strengthen family relationships. Plan and participate in caregiver support events and group activities. Prepare and facilitate sessions using approved materials while maintaining program fidelity. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation (attendance, outcomes, reports). Become familiar with all Smart Start programs and help promote them to families and community partners. Outreach & Recruitment Engage families through friendly, relationship-based outreach that builds trust and reduces barriers. Focus outreach efforts on families who may benefit most, including those experiencing poverty, housing instability, domestic violence, disability, or other challenges. Use trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices in all interactions. Collaborate with the Family Outreach Coordinator, NC Pre-K team, and community partners to align recruitment and referral pathways. Build connections with local organizations such as schools, early childhood programs, healthcare providers, and social service agencies. Coordination & Collaboration Work closely with colleagues and partners to ensure families receive coordinated, seamless support. Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement efforts. Represent the organization professionally in the community. Assist with scheduling and ensuring sessions are accessible for families. Data, Compliance & Quality Enter required program data accurately and on time. Follow confidentiality, ethical standards, and organizational policies. Participate in supervision, coaching, and professional development to maintain certification and program quality. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, early childhood education, or a related field (or associate's degree with significant relevant experience). At least 2 years of experience working with children and families. Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, approachable communication style. Experience supporting families facing challenges such as poverty, trauma, or housing instability. Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse populations. Strong organization and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to complete Triple P training (provided). Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally. Preferred Experience in parenting education, family support, or prevention programs. Knowledge of early childhood development and positive parenting strategies. Familiarity with Moore County resources. Experience with Smart Start or similar systems. Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred). Training & Support Comprehensive Triple P training and certification (Levels 4 and 3). Ongoing supervision, coaching, and professional development. Work Environment & Schedule Community-based role working at various locations. Full-time (40 hours/week) with a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
