Job Description
JOB This position plans, promotes, coordinates, implements, organizes, supervises, and evaluates daily and seasonal recreational programs for the citizens of the County.
Grade 20 EXAMPLE
Creates promotional marketing materials. Recruits, trains, and manages lifeguards.
Manages event and sport registration. Maintains outdoor pool during and off-season and indoor pool year-round. Recruits staff for front desk and concessions workers. Keeps all concessions stocked for the pool and other sports programs.
Handles cash deposits.
Assists in building operations and maintenance.
Greets and assists members and visitors.
Addresses inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
Enforces rules and regulations of the facilities.
Develops and incorporates new programs as needed.
Supervises support staff as necessary.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Knowledge of recreational, cultural, and social needs of all age groups and communities.
Knowledge of budget preparation and administration techniques.
Knowledge of facilities and equipment used in parks and recreational programs and the most effective arrangement of park and recreational areas.
Knowledge of the geography of the County and surrounding areas.
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of supervisory management practices.
Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in customer service and public relations. Ability to work independently.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to assist employees.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to complete assigned work within established deadlines in accordance with directives, policies, standards, and prescribed procedures. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with management, employees, members of the general public and other groups involved in the activities of the County as they relate to the department.

Maintains fields for sports programs. Maintains equipment for sports, making sure all supplies needed for each sport are available and in good shape. Orders equipment and supplies as necessary.
