ExemptQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institute or equivalent combination of training and experience working in child care, recreation, day or residential camp programming, education of elementary school children, or related field. Must qualify as a North Carolina Division of Child Development (DCDEE) Program Coordinator within six months of hire. To oversee and enhance the quality of before and after school programs and summer camps through effective management of staff, development and implementation of curriculum, and compliance with licensing requirements.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees:
Observes each Prime Time site on a monthly basis and meets with employees to present ideas for program improvement. Approves leave requests and finds coverage for sites where employees are absent; subs as needed. Develops employee schedules for before and after school care, teacher workday care, and the summer program. Meets by-monthly with site directors to discuss child development, curriculum overviews, and problems/concerns at individual schools. Assists site directors in conducting conferences with parents to discuss their child(ren) as needed; is available to parents and staff to handle concerns/problems. Works cooperatively with the administrative team in hiring staff for the school year and the summer program. Completes annual performance evaluations for site directors. Takes the lead in managing employee conduct matters, fostering a positive work environment through fair and consistent enforcement of company policies. Confers with personnel/payroll technician on site director and assistant staff placement. Supervises all Prime Time locations and staff in the absence of the other Traveling Coordinator(s).Curriculum:
Works cooperatively with other traveling coordinators to develop anNC DCDEE
approved 40-week before and after school curriculum. Develops learning guides on opening and closing ceremonies, transition games, and rainy-day activities. Puts together curriculum supply orders for the summer program and coordinates with the supply clerk on any special supplies that may be needed. Conducts curriculum training during the summer and fall staff training, and as needed for new employee orientation. Plans quarterly special events for the fall program and weekly special events for the summer program.Summer Program:
Possesses responsibility of the summer program: Set up, selection of schools, hiring of staff, staff schedules, supply and special project orders, and summer program insurance. Plans a 9-week themed summer curriculum consisting of 60+ activities per week. Plans and facilitates two weekly summer program field trips per summer program. Coordinates with the Training & License Administrator and executes summer program training. Maintains training standards and licensure requirements for own training. Maintains knowledge of the State of North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education licensing laws and maintains compliance at assigned school sites. Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness. Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Possesses hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data. Possesses auditory acuity at a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor vocalized instructions. Possesses visual acuity to read and analyze computer screen, documents and correspondence. Possess ability to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
