Required License or Certification Position Overview Primary Purpose of Position The Program Coordinator is expected to coordinate the Summer Transportation Institute (STI), work force development tasks, and various scholarship programs as directed by the Director of Transportation Institute. The Program coordinator is also expected to provide administrative support to the Director of Transportation, management of sponsored program, and activities of this interdisciplinary research unit. Coordinates financial and contract activities, recommends policy changes for internal operations, supervises student assistants, program scholars, and support staff assigned to the unit. The position is expected to include some travel each year, including national conferences, outreach efforts, and individual or team data collection trips. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site) Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies Required Competency Administrative Duties Duties Meet with supervisor regularly to develop plans for STI, workforce development, and scholarship program activities; Coordinate with faculty members, administrators, students and staff to monitor progress of Unit activities; Plan with the Director/PI on approaches, procedures, and techniques to conduct research and outreach activities; Required Competency Budgeting Duties Meet with supervisor regularly to develop plans for STI, workforce development, and scholarship program activities; Coordinate with faculty members, administrators, students and staff to monitor progress of Unit activities; Plan with the Director/PI on approaches, procedures, and techniques to conduct research and outreach activities; Required Competency Communication Duties Establishes clear and regular communication channels with all program participants, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
