Program Specialist Room At The Inn, Inc - 3.8 Kernersville, NC Job Details Part-time $17.50 - $22.50 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Interpersonal skills Early childhood education High school diploma or GED Driver's License Attention to detail Quality improvement Performing background checks Full Job Description Overview Room At The Inn is a Christian ministry which provides housing and programs for homeless, pregnant women and families with children experiencing from homelessness or poverty. Licensed by the state of NC to provide residential maternity shelter and accredited by the Council on Accreditation, we are expanding our programs and services. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Program Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing and educating young children, providing a safe and stimulating environment for their growth and development. This role involves caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, and essential office assignments to ensure center operational excellence. Responsibilities Assists in the fulfillment of the mission of Room At The Inn and exercises good stewardship in all tasks and activities Provides childcare that is nurturing and interactive Teaches children age-appropriate activities Reads to children Maintains a clean, safe environment for the children Changes diapers and clothing when necessary Maintains supplies and cleanliness of diaper changing and nursery areas Directs children in eating, resting, and toileting Ability to care for at least three children at one time Maintains daily care records of moms/children Provides transportation of clients using agency vehicles Provides Volunteer Center reception when childcare is not being provided Answers the door and phones at the Volunteer Center Processes donations Assists with meetings Keeps the coffee bar stocked Cleans where needed Fully participates in all Performance and Quality Improvement activities Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Key Competencies:
Attention to Detail. Ability to Multitask. Childcare experience required Ability to work well with others as a team player Professional phone and general office demeanor
Qualifications:
High School graduate and minimum 3 years providing childcare in a licensed childcare setting or 5 years of lived experience providing childcare. Must obtain a Childcare Credential within the first 6 months of employment. Must have parenting knowledge. Able to read and write documents. Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population. Must have valid driver's license.
Key Measures:
Develop warm and respective relationships with staff, mothers and children. Maintenance of an orderly and clean environment. Flexibility in work scheduling
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to: perform repetitive hand motions including grasping and holding objects; read and write clearly; visually distinguish among colors; prepare reports; hear at normal levels; speak clearly; sit for extended periods of time. bend, stretch, and crawl on the floor lift 40 lbs. wear scrubs and comfortable shoes
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass extensive background and reference checks. Must have a clean driving record. Must be willing to work overtime, on weekends and at nights as necessary.
