Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a cost-effective system of care for trauma patients and their families throughout the continuum of care. The TPM works both independently and in collaboration with the trauma program medical director and other members of the health care team and the management staff. TPM is self-directed and self-motivating, plans and conducts work with minimal direction, and reports the progress of work to the Director of Emergency and Trauma Services. The trauma registrar and performance improvement/quality improvement nurse reports directly to the Trauma Program Manager. The TPM supports high quality, safe care by ensuring organizational systems and processes are compliant with requirements and are evidenced-based. Ensures compliance with North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services (NCOEMS) rules and American College of Surgeons Guidelines for trauma center designation. Responsible for research, education programs, designing communication to internal and external stakeholders, and coordinating reports and statistics to improve programmatic performance. Minimum Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required; MSN preferred. • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required by the nurse leader. Required completion of all mandatory education as determined by UNC Health Southeastern and department leadership.Preferred:
EMT or Paramedic experience preferredADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Current RN license to practice in the state of North Carolina. • TNCC Certification required on hire, or within first 6 months. • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Must maintain current certification and professional license as required for job function.
