(A)M CoordinatorAbout PAGE The Partnership for Appalachian Girls' Education (PAGE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2010 to create new educational opportunities for girls and young women in rural Appalachian communities. Our mission is to empower girls through innovative education in STE(A)M, digital learning, humanities, and leadership, preparing them for futures as leaders in Appalachia and beyond.Headquartered in Madison County, NC, PAGE operates After School Programs, Summer Labs, and Mobile PAGE initiatives, reaching vulnerable rural communities with transformative educational experiences. Position Summary PAGE seeks a STE(A)M Curriculum Coordinator to design and deliver engaging, hands-on STE(A)M programming for students in Madison and Yancey Counties. This role supports PAGE's After School, Summer, and Mobile PAGE programs, working closely with our Leadership Team to meet educational goals. This part-time position is ideal for someone passionate about inquiry-based learning, interdisciplinary STE(A)M education, and empowering youth in rural communities. Key Responsibilities Summer Programming Facilitate a STE(A)M Lab during the July 2026 Summer Program. Collaborate with the Programs Director to align the Lab with budget, space, and time constraints. Oversee a curriculum suited for a multi-age cohort, emphasizing scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and collaborative discourse. Review deliverables that document learning. Partner with STE(A)M professionals and college interns to enhance the Lab experience. Integrate place-based activities with real-world applications into programming. After-School Programming Plan and implement interactive STE(A)M modules during Fall and Spring sessions. Develop lesson plans that are engaging, age-appropriate, and tied to session objectives. Facilitate sessions independently or with external STE(A)M professionals. Mobile PAGE Design and deliver STE(A)M activities for Mobile PAGE partners, including pop-up workshops or sustained programming based on partner needs and availability. Evaluation and Communication Communicate regularly with the Programs Director to align activities with budgets, resources, and schedules. Express material and supply needs to the Programs Director in a timely manner for purchasing. Contribute to internal communication systems, including an online orientation packet for college interns and summer staff, and maintain the Google Doc calendar for After-School Program planning and reflection. Support the Leadership Team's STE(A)M-related communication needs, such as preparing lesson plans for the Communications Specialist or answering questions for grant reporting by the Executive Director. Participate in staff meetings to outline STE(A)M plans, share updates, and contribute reflections or evaluations. Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a STE(A)M-related field. Experience teaching, mentoring, or coordinating youth programs in STE(A)M. Strong organizational and teamwork skills. Preferred Knowledge of place-based or project-based learning methods. Experience partnering with community organizations or professionals in STE(A)M. Schedule and Compensation Academic Year (September-May): approximately 10 hours per week. Summer (July 2026): 35 hours per week.
Compensation:
